The Candy Snatchers formed in 1992 with Larry May, Matthew Odietus, Willy Johns, & Greg Miller. The band played many local shows before starting to tour, currently having done ten US tours and two European tours. The band quickly became known for cutting themselves on stage with glass from broken bottles. Sometimes members of the audience would light Willy and his bass on fire.
“At the bar Larry worked at he had to be bouncer and frontman at the same time. If someone was an asshole, Larry would help remove the person from the premises. This sort of altercation would happen regularly with particularly rowdy crowds. The energy of the music got everyone riled up into a super party frenzy. Shows would end with glass all over the floor, and the band members would be burnt and bleeding.” – Brian idle edsel Diederich
The band has gone on to release more than thirty singles and are currently working on their sixth studio album.
Brian Hurd from Daddy Long Legs performed harmonica and backing vocals on Down at Delilah's. He also played several shows with the band.
